Frequently Asked Questions

How long does conveyancing take?

The entire process of conveyancing up to settlement usually takes between 4-6 weeks to be completed. Each property transaction or transfer is unique, and the duration of conveyancing will also depend on how complex the transaction is, as well as the processing times of the state or council authorities.

What happens on the settlement day?

During settlement, your conveyancer will meet the other party’s representatives to finalise the sale or transfer. You will not be required to attend settlement in person. Instead, your conveyancer will arrange for you to provide the required signatures beforehand. You’ll be notified of the progress of the settlement on the day, whether it’s a completion of contract signing and exchange, as well as to arrange for the transfer of funds to or from your bank account. The transfer of funds is completed securely via PEXA, the industry’s foremost digital conveyancing platform. Once settlement is complete, your conveyancer will hand over the keys to your new property.
